- SoundCaser 1.0 documentation May 1993
-
- • Note:
- SoundCaser will create a "Font" folder that contains sound resources. Unlike
- legitimate System 7 Sound Suitcases, you cannot drag sounds in and out of a
- SoundCaser suitcase. You must use the SoundCaser mover application.

- • SHAREWARE - $5 - CASH ONLY
- ◊This program is distributed as Shareware: if you like it or use it please honor
- the shareware system by sending $5 to the author at the address above. Since
- collecting international cheques is very expensive, please send cash only. If
- you MUST send a cheque, keep in mind that the banks will gobble up more than
- half of it.
-
- ◊NOTE:
- Getting some (usually very few) bucks is what you write shareware for, but
- getting a note, a postcard or anything else is a lot better than getting
- nothing. I'd like to know how far this program has gone, so remember that you
- can do something nice even if you don't have a couple of $$$ to spare.
-
- • WHAT IS IT?
- ◊SoundCaser is a quick hack I wrote to take my sounds off the System file under
- System 7.1. It works pretty much like the old Font/DA Mover but it moves sound
- resources intead of fonts.
-
- In fact, creating a new sound file will create a font suitcase with a custom
- icon that makes it look like a sound suitcase; moving this suitcase inside
- System 7.1's Font folder (inside the System folder) will make the Mac believe
- it's a font suitcase, so it will be opened and all its sounds will be available
- in the Sound control panel right away. All this could be done manually with
- ResEdit, but it's a lot easier to do it with SoundCaser.
-
- • VERSION HISTORY:
- ◊1.0 - First final release.
-
- • HAVE FUN!
- And don't forget to $$$ SEND YOUR CONTRIBUTION $$$ so that more cool utilities
- will see the light in the near future, at the low-low-low costs of shareware.
